The Challenge of Mineral Wealth: Using Resource Endowments to Foster Sustainable Development

On 28th March, 2007 the Chamber and the British Embassy hosted a presentation by Kathryn McPhail, Principal of The London-based International Council on Mining & Metals presenting their Resource Endowment Initiative which aims to address the issue of whether natural resources constitute a blessing or a curse in the quest for nation's sustainable development.
This is particularly important in the case of resource-rich developing nations such as Peru, which constitute one of four emblematic national case studies addressed by this initiative.
Kathryn was accompanied in the presentation by a panel of Peruvian experts, Beatriz Bosa, Pablo de la Flor and Eduardo Rubio.
