Tourism and Environment

On 10th October the Chamber, having in mind that British tourists contribute greatly to Peru´s tourism industry, organised its first event focusing on the tourism sector. The presentations focused on the relationship between tourism and the environment and the importance that sustainable ecofriendly tourism has acquired worldwide in recent years. Our experienced speakers gave an overview of environmental management issues in Peru, from legal and business perspectives and the event included various specific case studies.
The panel was composed of: John Herdin, General Manager of the Hotel Laguna Seca in Cajamarca; Ana Cecilia Rivas, Academia Coordinator of the course in Tourism Administration in the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola; Adriana Aurazo, Associate in the Environental area of legal Estudio Grau; Enrique Rossell, Manager of Environmental Corporate Affairs for Orient Express Hotels, Trains – Perú and Maria Isabel Scheuch, Representative of Mountain Lodges of Peru.
