Global Entrepreneurship Week

The British Peruvian Chamber, the British Embassy and the UK Department of Trade & Investment organised the first ever Global Entrepreneurship Week Peru 2008 from October 29 to October 31 at Universidad del Pacifico.
The idea comes from a British Government initiative and from the expansion of a local idea to a worldwide event in which 70 countries participated. It is hoped to extend this number to 100 in 2009.
The event counted on the participation of companies and organisations committed to youth development and entrepreneurship. They helped young entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas, and to improve their businesses for those who already have one. The programmed activities were focused on issues related to the creation of a business and how to improve it, with conferences on legal issues, finance, taxation, commerce and marketing as well as visits to companies like Talma and Backus, which were useful for young people to learn in depth the dynamics used by important companies in Peru.
